Hops — The Safe Phytoestrogen
The hops plant is the source of a unique phytoestrogen known as 8-prenylnaringenin. Phytoestrogens are compounds from plants that can act like the hormone estrogen, but are much less potent. In fact, 8-prenylnaringenin is estimated to be 10,000 to 20,000 times less active than the hormone 17β-estradiol. This allows it to provide beneficial effects for menopause symptom relief without causing the adverse effects associated with estrogen-based hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

In a clinical trial, women taking the standardized hops extract in MenoComplete had 4 times fewer hot flashes than the women in the placebo group, and double the reduction in overall menopause symptoms, without significant adverse effects. Similar results were reported in a second clinical study.

Standardized Black Cohosh and Apple Fruit
MenoComplete combines the hops extract with standardized black cohosh, which has been well studied for its ability to relieve common menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes and night sweats. Apple fruit extract, rich in the antioxidants quercetin and phloridzin, provides additional benefits for bone and heart health.
